Parliament's Past - the Rum Hospital's Bicentenary 1816 to 2016 exhibition celebrates the 200th anniversary of the oldest public building still in continuous use in Australia, the NSW Parliament.
Before becoming home to the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly, the building served as a hospital and boasted the nicknames the 'Rum Hospital' and 'Sidney Slaughter House.'
The exhibition showcases how the building has evolved from colonial hospital to a working Parliament and is open during the month of April 2016.
Entry is free and doors are open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Friday.
