Created specially for the Reconciliation Wall, Songline is a series of mixed media on canvas that explore Bundjalung culture and connection to country.
These pieces by artist Kim Healey are a timeline to the creation stories and will enrich visitors' understanding and appreciation of the Bundjalung people and their culture.
Kim has forged a reputation for her rich storytelling through different artistic mediums. Working and creating out of her small studio cottage on the coastline of the Clarence Valley, she engages audiences with vibrant, contemporary designs that invoke her Gumbayngiirr and Bundjalung heritage. Kim's photography, collage, printing, 3D imagery and sculpture entwine colour, light and shadow in various ways to reveal her deep connections to country and culture.
The Parliament of NSW was lucky to have Kim Healey visit during NAIDOC Week, where she sat down with exhibition host and President of the Upper House Ben Franklin to chat about Songline. Watch the video below:

How to see the exhibition
Visit the Reconciliation Wall at NSW Parliament House (6 Macquarie Street, Sydney) on weekdays, 9am-5pm. The exhibition ends on 4 October 2023.
Please note the Parliament is currently undergoing restoration works, but remains open to the public. Access is to the left of the building, via the security gatehouse. Visitors can follow the signage into the building and take either the stairs or lift to the Fountain Court. Entry is free.
