Local Government Areas and State Electoral Divisions

The following tables and maps provide a brief tabulated and graphical overview of New South Wales Local Government Areas (LGA) and State Electoral Divisions (SED) from the 2001 Census of Population and Housing. Data and maps were compiled using the ABS CD-Rom publications "2001 Census Basics: NSW Final Release" and "CDATA 2001: 2nd Release". Definitions are attached and are drawn from the ABS publication "Statistical Concepts Library".

LGA types
In all States and the Northern Territory each incorporated area has an official status. The LGA status types currently in use are:
