Have you visited Australia's first Parliament?

In 1816 a hospital opened in the early NSW colony and started receiving patients. However, as it turned out the building was destined to serve a variety of functions.

In 1829 the very first legislative body met in one of the surgeons wings and slowly this part of the building grew into the first legislature in Australia.

Explore our unique history with a free guided tour, kicking off at 1:30pm every Monday and Friday. Over one hour, our friendly guides will take you through the Legislative Chambers and the historic Parkes, Wentworth and Jubilee rooms.
