Pastoralist, mining investor and contractor. Educated at Goulburn Grammar and in 1863 at Calder House Academy in Redfern. Entered business and commenced sheepfarming. Also engaged in mining pursuits. Entered partnership with George Hawke. By 1889 was again in New South Wales engaged in pastoral, mining and contracting pursuits.
