Landlord and racehorse breeder. Educated by W.T. Cape in Sydney. First managed, and later inherited, his father’s Duckenfield estate, completing and enlarging the magnificent mansion which his father had begun. He earned his income from taking on tenant farmers as well as breeding racehorses and other stock.
