School teacher. Educated at Christian Brothers, Lewisham. Wagga Wagga Teachers College 1957-1988 and external student University of New England 1960-1966. B.A. Previously primary and secondary teacher and was English Master at The Entrance High School until election to Parliament. Other occupations Telecom technician; tram-conductor; telephonist; storeman; professional fireman; railway porter. Recreational interests include reading, music and french-polishing.
