Grazier and stud cattle breeder. Father started the Burra Hereford stud in 1929. Educated at Sydney Church of England Grammar School (Shore). Commenced veterinary studies at University of Sydney however, did not graduate. Won a blue for Rugby, also played for combined Sydney and was a reserve for the new South Wales team. Took over the Burra stud and moved it to Holbrook. Recreational interests include rugby, cricket and horse racing. Regular attender of Royal Easter Show and was a respected Hereford judge.

Royal Australian Air Force 1945-1946.
Honours Received
Awarded an Order of British Empire (OBE) in 1976 for services to primary industry.
