Apprenticed to Louis Pattinson, chemist, registered as a pharmacist in 1910; studied at University of Sydney MB ChM (1923), practised at Granville; founder of Granville branch of St John Ambulance Brigade; serving Brother of St John of Jerusalem; Freemason; Congregationalist.
