Farmer and Grazier. Ration keeper and storekeeper on station. At 18 was head stockman for Vincent Dowling, exploring west and north west New South Wales. Took up pastoral leases in 1862. Returned to property near Bourke. Sold it in 1868. Started a selling and printing business. Returned to property near Bourke, moved to Sydney in 1875; Built a homestead with gardens, a dairy and sawmill. Owner Copper Mill near Molong. Became a general manager of Peak Hill Pty Company. Contributed frequently to press.
