Ray is married to Wendy with two children Ryan and Kylie. Ray is a member of the NSW Legislative Assembly, being first elected to parliament in 2007 following a term as councillor on the Hills Shire Council. Prior to this Ray worked for 22 years in the public transport industry, complimenting his current appointment as Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Roads. Ray studied at Curtin University achieving a Graduate Certificate in Development Planning and has since completed a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Ray has previously served on the Standing Committee on Natural Resource Management and most recently on the Select Committee on the Motor Vehicle Repair Industry.
Qualifications
Masters of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP(Curtin)), Curtin University. Ray commenced his working life in two metal trades apprenticeships prior to working in the transport industry for 22 years, where he completed an additional two trade qualifications. Between 1985 and 2005 Ray held a Racing NSW Thoroughbred Trainers Licence and successfully operated a small business during that time within the Thoroughbred Racing Industry. Ray has since completed a Graduate Certificate of Development Planning and a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Curtin University. Ray was previously the Minister for Disability Services & Minister for Multiculturalism, Youth & Volunteering.
