(1938); visited Australia as a ships steward in 1926, entered service in New South Wales education department., taught in country and suburban schools until 1945; owner of farm near Goulburn; honorary life member of Crookwell Hospital in 1933; founder and president of the British Orphans Adoption Sciety from 1939 until 1953; inaugurated the Help the Children of the Allies campaign, president from 1940 until 1945; visited England in 1948, working passage as a steward; president of Captive Nations Council in 1967; delegate to World Anti Communism League Conferences, Bangkok in 1969, Tokyo in 1970, Manila in 1971, Rio de Janeiro in 1975; life member of Society for Crippled Children in 1967; founder and president of the Australia Free China Society in 1973; Hungarian Order of St Lazlo in 1970; Polish Pologna in 1944, Author, Freemason.
