Educated at West Maitland High School; articled to surveyor Marcus Hines, Muswellbrook; Associate Member of the Institute of Engineers of Australia; assistant engineer at Kyogle Shire from 1925 until 1930, engineer Gundurimba shire, Lismore from 1930 until 1959; with Allied Works Council Oaklands near Albury during war; director of Lismore Base Hospital in 1950's. Member of board of Lismore Technical College and the Parents and Citizens Association.
