MB ChB 1907, MD 1908; after postgraduate work in Scotland and England. Returned to New South Wales in 1909, practised in Burwood; Registrar of Randwick Military Hospital during 1914-1918 war; director of Royal Exchange of Sydney in 1921, City Mutual Life Assurance Society 1928, Federal Mutual Insurance Company 1932, Illawarra and South Coast Steam Navigation Company Limited in 1939; member of Board of Health 1925 of Medical Board 1939; member of Railway Superannuation Board for fourteen years; trustee of Australian Museum 1926-1941.

Father was Mayor of Randwick and president of Chamber of Commerce.
