Auctioneer. Educated to primary level; after war returned to Orange Free State and opened a business there; on return to Australia went to Lismore in 1905 then settled at Murwillumbah in 1909, opened an office for Hindmarsh, Johnson and Company., auctioneers which later took over as F.W Stuart and Company; Tweed Fruitgrowers Association in 1931 and district councillor of Primary Producers' Union; member of Flood Prevention Committee, and Murwillumbah Returned Serviceman's League; Freemason.
Military Service
Served in South African War with New South Wales Lancers, later transferred to 3rd New South Wales Mounted Rifles, commissioned. Served in Australian Infantry Forces in 1916, 23rd Battalion, Private.
