Educated at Bendigo public school; pastry cook, owned a business in Northcote, Victoria; moved to Sydney in c.1913, established Kenso Cake Company., later became director of Sydney Cake Company; Joyce's Biscuit Limited, J.T Jennings Limited, Dental Appliances, Home Endowments Limited, and of oil companies. Member of Metropolitan Water, Sewerage and Drainage Board 1933 - 1935; trustee of National Park; racehorse owner, member of Australian Jockey Club; Freemason.
