1905 - PUBLIC HOUSING MAINTENANCE BACKLOG

Hornery, Sonia to the Treasurer representing the Minister for Finance and Services, and Minister for the Illawarra

How has the Government addressed the $300 million backlog in maintenance work due for public housing homes across Sydney?

Answer -

The Land and Housing Corporation determines the estimated backlog level of maintenance by undertaking condition surveys across the total portfolio.

The Corporation continues to work towards reducing the overall maintenance liability across its asset portfolio through careful budgeting and informed annual maintenance programs.

The Corporation will continue to prioritise managing the annual requirement to ensure best use of our assets and to maintain the backlog to an acceptable level.
