4408 - BERESFIELD LAND

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Planning

What 'timely and coordinated' infrastructure is the Government planning on delivering in Beresfield to 'make land more attractive for business and also contribute to market demand' as outlined in the Minister's report 'Hunter Regional Plan 2036'?

Answer -

I am advised:

  • The Hunter Regional Plan 2036 provides an overarching framework to guide development proposals and infrastructure decisions.

  • The Regional Plan acknowledges infrastructure investment across the Hunter will be essential to underpin the growth and to deliver new jobs, housing and services such as new schools, roads, health and emergency services.

  • The NSW Government is developing a Special Infrastructure Contributions Plan to identify infrastructure required to support growth foreshadowed by the Hunter Regional Plan 2036.

  • A Discussion Paper on the Hunter Special Infrastructure Contributions Plan is on exhibition until 16 December 2016.
