- Does the Department of Education monitor the number of students who opt out
of special religious education?
- If so, how many students attending schools in the Wallsend electorate opted
out of special religious education in the 2017 school year?

I'm advised actual participation and attendance in Special Religious
Education (SRE) at the school level changes frequently and does not reflect the
data collected atenrolment . It is for this reason that data on the number of
students participating in SRE classes is not kept centrally and is only
available at the school level.
