12809 - SPECIAL RATE LEVY

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Local Government, Minister for Juvenile Justice, Minister Assisting the Minister for Planning, and Minister Assisting the Minister for Health (Mental Health)

If Newcastle City Council moves from an s355 committee of a council to a Not For Profit Incorporated Association and a BID Model:

  1. Can the Special Rate Levy continue to be collected by council and forwarded to the new BID boards to be allocated through local approved programs with all the checks and balances in place?
  2. Prior to the restructure, do the Special Rate Levy payers need to be "polled" to agree to the change?
