4855 - EQUAL FUNDING FOR NEW SOUTH WALES PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Education

How is the Minister ensuring that all New South Wales public schools will receive their fair share of funding in 2017?

Answer -

The Government's 2016-17 Budget delivers record funding of $12 billion for NSW public schools. A further $554 million has been allocated in 2016-17 to support the delivery of capital works projects in New South Wales public schools.

Schools are already benefiting from the $219 million additional funding provided in 2017 to schools through the Department of Education's needs-based Resource Allocation Model.

Funding has also been allocated to key reforms such as improving teacher quality.

New South Wales will continue to advocate for the full Gonski funding.
