  1. Is a parent, grandparent or guardian required to purchase a separate Opal card for each child traveling with them?
    1. If not, how many times can a single Opal card be swiped at any one time?
  2. What is the minimum amount of money that must be placed initially on a child's Opal card?
Answer -

I am advised:

(1) Yes. Each customer travelling must have a separate, valid Opal card to travel.

(2) $5 at an Opal retailer using cash, debit or credit card or EFTPOS; or $20 online at www.opal.com.au or over the phone on 13 67 25 (13 OPAL).
