3131 - SERVICE NSW COMPROMISED SECURITY

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Customer Service

Considering that cyber criminals recently compromised 47 Service NSW employee accounts, what steps has the Government taken to ensure the private data of customers at the Wallsend Service NSW Centre is secure?

Answer -

Service NSW has undertaken a significant program of work to uplift cyber security capability following the incident, considering the advice of cyber security experts across the Government and outside it.

To support the Government's capacity to detect and respond to the cyber threat landscape, $240 million in Cyber Security funding was announced on 18 June 2020. Funding will support protecting existing systems, deploying new technologies and increasing the cyber workforce.
