2091 - FUNDING FOR THE REMOVAL OF AN UNSAFE KITCHEN

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education representing the Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning

Why has the Department of Education not provided funding for Shortland Public School to remove an old unsafe kitchen from the school hall and build a new one?

Answer -

Under the Department of Education's normal life cycle calculations, the kitchen in the hall at Shortland Public School is timetabled for refurbishment in 2024-2025. It is not currently in use but is in a safe condition. The school also has a canteen in Block A that is in satisfactory condition.
