3128 - COVID RECOVERY TARGETING

Hornery, Sonia to the Premier

Considering the Australian Bureau of Statistics Census data and recent employment statistics which highlight that suburbs in the Wallsend Electorate are already at an economic disadvantage as a result of COVID-19, what are the Government's plans to target recovery efforts where they are needed most?

Answer -

The Government has provided more than $13.6 billion in COVID-19 stimulus measures, increased health spending and tax breaks - all aimed at supporting businesses and families in all parts of New South Wales during the pandemic and into the recovery.

This support includes our $3 billion Job Acceleration Fund to fast-track smaller, shovel ready projects, touching every corner of the state, and injecting up to 20,000 jobs back into the New South Wales workforce.

Our total infrastructure investment across NSW, which is more than $100 billion over the next four years, will be our best chance of supporting the hundreds of thousands of people who have already lost their jobs.
