Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Sport, Multiculturalism, Seniors and Veterans

Considering that many sporting clubs will find it hard to obtain sponsorships from local businesses such as pubs and clubs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, what assistance is the Government providing to local sporting clubs to meet the increased costs of complying with COVID-19 pandemic rules such as additional cleaning and the availability of hand sanitiser stations?

Answer -

The Government has announced a $27.3 million Community Sport Recovery Package to help the sector get back on its feet, including grants of up to $1 ,000 to support up to 12,500 local sporting clubs and associations across the State. This is in addition to the $127 million continued investment in the Active Kids program for 2020-21.
