The Neighbourhood Watch program is one of a range of crime prevention and
community safety strategies within NSW. The NSW Police Force (NSWPF) has
advised me:
Local Area Command Crime Prevention Officers act as liaison and may help
Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) groups by:
- Acting as a Local Area Command contact point for inquiries;
- Attending meetings as required;
- Disseminating information on local crime and policing issues to NHW
groups;
- Monitoring local crime trends and encouraging NHW activities that aim to
prevent and reduce crime; and
- Participating in crime prevention initiatives
