- Given that the size and scope of the proposed development at Minmi is for
an additional 3000 dwellings, what factors will be taken into consideration to
improve public transport services in relation to the prospective increase in
the number of residents?
- How and when will the existing bus and train service be augmented to serve
the increased population?
- Does the Government planning for public transport take into account
development applications and proposals the size of the Minmi proposals?
- Does the Government require development proposals, such as the one at
Minmi, to include transport connectivity and the plans for public
transport?

I am advised that:
- Public transport services will be planned in response to the scale and
sequence of new urban development in and around Minmi, and growth in
neighbouring centres.
- This question should be directed to the Minister for Transport.
- Yes. Land use planning is being integrated with transport planning at the
regional scale through Regional Transport Plans and Regional Growth Plans.
- Yes. For larger greenfield development proposals, such as at Minmi, the
developer must consider bus routes and the location of new bus stops as part of
the first development application for subdivision of the site.
