- The Government is delivering a range of new infrastructure and public
transport to support future housing growth in the Hunter. For example, through
the Hunter Infrastructure and Investment Fund, the Government has provided $450
million to enhance the Hunter's infrastructure, including transport, education,
water and health to drive economic development and boost the region's
liveability.
- The Government is committed to improving public transport in Newcastle
and the Hunter region. Truncating the heavy rail line, creating a full
accessible transport interchange at Wickham and introducing light rail will
enhance and support urban renewal in Newcastle. For specific information about
public transport in Fletcher in the Wallsend electorate, I refer your question
to the Minister for Transport.
