The Fixing the Trains initiative announced on 15 May 2012 will give the
people of NSW the world-class rail system they deserve. This program is
supported by important actions such as:
- Delivering 63 additional weekly rail services in October 2011;
- Adding 30,000 seats each week on selected Newcastle & Central Coast
line services;
- Completely re-writing the CityRail timetable to deliver additional express
and semi-express services; and
- Constructing 35 station upgrades and 9 commuter car parks as part of the
Transport Access Program.
