1062 - PUBLIC SERVICE JOB CUTS IN RESEARCH FACILITIES

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Health, and Minister for Medical Research

Will there be any cuts to public service jobs in research facilities in the Hunter, including the following:

    1. Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI);
    2. John Hunter Hospital;
    3. Calvary Mater Hospital?
Answer -

I am advised:

There are no plans to cut public service jobs in research facilities at either John Hunter Hospital or Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital.

The Hunter Medical Research Institute is an independent institute and not part of the public service.
