Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure, and Minister Assisting the Premier on Infrastructure NSW

Given the comments by Infrastructure NSW chairman Nick Greiner in the Newcastle Herald on 3 May 2012, how is the retention of the rail line holding back development in Newcastle city?

Answer -

The NSW Government is currently considering all options available to ensure the best long term development outcome is achieved for the Newcastle CBD and greater Hunter region.

The community will be consulted throughout the process and will have the opportunity to provide input into the future growth of the Newcastle region.
