2284 - RENEWABLE ENERGY ECONOMY

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Industry, Resources and Energy

The Australian Energy Regulator's State of the Energy Market 2015 report provides insight into the beginnings of a stagnant fossil fuel economy in the Hunter, NSW, and Australia in general.

  1. With a view to ensuring no job losses or downturns in industry take place in the near future, particularly in the Wallsend electorate, has the Minister reviewed the wealth of literature available from industry analysts and economists on models for a transition to a renewable energy economy?
  2. If so, has this information influenced any policy the Minister intends to introduce?
