3725 - ANZAC MEMORIAL BUILDING ANNUAL REPORT

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Citizenship and Communities, and Minister for Aboriginal Affairs
  1. Why has the 2011-2012 Annual Report for the ANZAC Memorial Building not met the assigned timetable for presentation to this Parliament?
  2. Which government department is responsible for the preparation and presentation of the Annual Report?
Answer -
  1. Between 1 January 2011 and 30 June 2012, the Trustees were provided with accounting services by a number of different NSW Government agencies and shared services providers, resulting in a high degree of complexity in the creation of financial statements for that period. Treasury had previously extended the reporting period to eighteen months to align the ANZAC Memorial's annual reporting with the financial year. The Trustees' Annual Report and audited financial statements for 2011-12 will be finalised shortly.
  2. The preparation of the 2011-12 Annual Report is now the responsibility of Veterans' Affairs within the Office of Communities, Department of Education and Communities.
