- Through the Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) program, FACS funds
eight specialist women's refuges in the Hunter Region, one of which is
specifically for Aboriginal women. In addition there are four youth
refuges that women under 25 years can access, and two general services that
provide crisis accommodation for both men and women.
- Women in the Wallsend Electorate can access any of the funded services
provided in the Hunter Region, including those in Maitland, Singleton, and
Newcastle LGAs.
Current data on occupancy rates is not kept by FACS.
