Is the Government providing financial support in the Hunter to Catholic Community Services toward helping compulsive hoarders who are at risk of homelessness?

Answer -

The Department of Family and Community Services provided funding to Catholic Healthcare Limited, of which Catholic Community Services is a division, on a non-recurrent basis for a period of 18 months from 1 October 2010 to 30 June 2012, in order to provide Home and Community Care services that assist people living in squalor in the Hunter area.

Negotiations regarding ongoing funding are currently underway.
