4736 - STOCKTON CENTRE CLOSURE

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Family and Community Services, and Minister for Women representing the Minister for Ageing, Minister for Disability Services, and Minister for the Illawarra
  1. Does the Government plan to close the Stockton Centre from 2015?
  2. If so, where will the 480 residents with disabilities be housed?
  3. What type of accommodation will the long term residents be housed in?
Answer -
  1. The Government is committed to the redevelopment of all large residential centres by 2018.
  2. New domestic scale housing with 24 hour support will be offered to residents of the Stockton Centre.
  3. All Stockton Centre residents and their families will be consulted about their accommodation preferences, which will include its location.
