  1. How many people have lost workers compensation income, either wholly or in part, as a result of changes to relevant legislation?
  2. What measures are being taken by WorkCover to ensure that workers compensation recipients are fairly treated?
Answer -
  1. There is no specific data held to link the loss of weekly workers compensation payments to legislative change.
  2. WorkCover is committed to providing optimal customer service to workers compensation recipients and continues to invest in systems and processes to improve its service delivery.
    Some measures taken by WorkCover include subjecting Workers Compensation Scheme Agents to a strict Code of Conduct and Customer Engagement, licencing and auditing self and specialised insurers against strict requirements and providing avenues of appeal for claimants including rigorous internal review and independent external review processes.
    Injured workers can contact the WorkCover Customer Service Centre at any time for advice, information or assistance with their claim, or the WIRO in relation to complaints that relate to work capacity decisions.
