As part of this Government's commitment to improve the safety and
accessibility of Cardiff Station, Transport for NSW is combining the planned
station accessibility upgrade with works to lengthen the platform so that it
can accommodate eight-car trains. This required a redesign of the originally
planned accessibility upgrade.
Early works for the project are now underway. The project is scheduled for
completion in 2013. The previous Labor Government had 16 years to deliver this
project. All Labor left the long suffering commuters of Cardiff with was rough
costings, a rough timeline, and a sign. The NSW Liberals & Nationals have
been in Government less than 12 months, and work has commenced.
