6 - INCENTIVES TO SMALL BUSINESSES AND BANKS

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Primary Industries, and Minister for Small Business

What incentives does the Government provide to encourage small businesses and banks to locate in main street strips?

Answer -

The Department of Trade & Investment, Regional Infrastructure & Services' (DTIRIS) regional staff work with local councils, communities and business development organisations to create a positive business environment and facilitate business growth.

The Enterprising Regions Program provides funding to assist community⁄regional development organisations to undertake planning activities and implement projects which have broad based local support and the potential to increase business and economic activity. It aims to provide a positive business environment to encourage businesses to locate and invest in areas undertaking economic revitalisation projects. Further information can be found on the Department's website.
