Given that increased bus numbers negatively impact on traffic and motorists:

Why is the Government replacing trains with buses from Wickham station to Newcastle?

I am advised:

Replacing trains with buses from Wickham Station into Newcastle will efficiently transfer passengers from the rail network to key destinations in the Newcastle CBD.
