Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Health, and Minister for Medical Research
  1. When does the Government expect to have a construction timetable in place for the new Lower Hunter Hospital at Metford?
  2. Has rehabilitation work started at the new hospital site in Metford?
    1. If not, when will this work commence?
Answer -

I am advised:

(1) Planning and the business case are being prepared for the new Maitland Hospital. The Government will announce details as appropriate.

(2) Health Infrastructure understands the tenant, CSR⁄PGH, continues to work with Resources and Energy to document and implement a mine closure plan, undertake remediation and demolition and remove current structures. Some of this work has been completed. Work will continue until the obligations of the mine closure plan are finalised.
