342 - CENTRAL TO NEWCASTLE CITY RAIL LINK

  1. Will the Government cut the Central to Newcastle City rail link at Wickham?
  2. If so, what convenient, time saving and accessible public transport options will replace the rail line?
Answer -

I am advised:

  1. and (2) The Board of the Hunter Infrastructure Fund will advise the Government on potential Hunter projects. It will also develop the 20-year infrastructure plan for the region.
    Mr Peter Blackmore, the Mayor of Maitland, has been appointed the chair of the State Government's new Hunter Infrastructure Fund board. Further local community members and business leaders will be appointed to the board through a public expressions of interest process. 
    $350 million will be allocated to the Fund over four years for infrastructure projects in the region.
