10049 - PARK AND RIDE PROJECT TO ALLEVIATE CONGESTION

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure

Considering Newcastle City Council is operating a very successful park and ride service from McDonald Jones Stadium into Newcastle's inner city that is alleviating traffic congestion and emissions, is consideration being given to a similar project from McDonald Jones Stadium to the John Hunter Hospital to alleviate the congestion being experienced by staff and visitors?

Answer -

I am advised:

The frequent route 13 travels between Lambton Road to John Hunter Hospital every 15 minutes between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends. Routes 11, 26 and 42 also provide regular services to and from John Hunter Hospital from across the Newcastle Transport area.
