7975 - NEW MARYLAND FIRE STATION STAFFING

Why is the new Maryland fire station staffed only by retained personnel as opposed to both retained and permanent personnel?
Answer -

I am advised:

The new Wallsend Fire Station, near Maryland, is staffed by the same firefighters who were stationed at the previous Wallsend Fire Station.

The Wallsend area is also serviced by stations at Lambton, Mayfield West and Cardiff, which are staffed by both permanent and retained firefighters, as well as Minmi, which is staffed by retained firefighters.

FRNSW constantly reviews service needs for the community and current arrangements meet those needs.
