1822 - LITERACY AND NUMERACY TEACHERS IN THE HUNTER

  1. How many new literacy and numeracy teachers, as promised in the Government's Literacy and Numeracy Action Plan, have been appointed to schools in the Hunter?
  2. Which schools in the Hunter have received them?
Answer -
  1. As a start to the Government plan to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for our students, 50 Instructional Leaders will be appointed to public schools with the greatest need, including those in the Hunter, by the end of December 2012. The first 5 will be appointed by the end of May.
  2. Additional teachers will be allocated to targeted schools in the lowest quartile of NAPLAN performance.
