  1. What steps have been taken by the Government to ensure that the western suburbs of Newcastle are adequately serviced by public transport?
  2. What metrics are being used to determine the demand for public transport in the western suburbs of Newcastle?
Answer -

I am advised:

  1. In April 2015, the Government added 69 extra weekly services on routes 263, 267 and 268 to improve transport in the Edgeworth, West Wallsend and Cameron Park areas.
  2. The Government reviews patronage figures on existing services and monitors projected population and employment growth for new release areas to assist in planning for bus services.
