3633 - JOHN HUNTER HOSPITAL CAR PARKING REVENUE

Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Health, and Minister for Medical Research
  1. How much revenue was raised by car parking at the John Hunter Hospital from January to December 2012?
  2. To which projects was this revenue allocated?
  3. How much was allocated to each project?
Answer -

(1) to (3)

Revenue received from car parking at John Hunter Hospital pays for the operating costs of the car parks, repairs and maintenance of parking equipment, the surrounding road networks and additional parking facilities across all Hunter New England Local Health District sites, such as the new car park at Maitland Hospital.

The District has procedures in place to assist visitors who cannot afford the parking fee. Social workers are available to provide parking assistance in hardship cases, and weekly passes are available at the John Hunter Hospital to reduce the cost of parking for visitors required to frequently return to the Hospital.
