- The NSW Land and Housing Corporation builds and refurbishes homes so that
tenants with disabilities or specific needs are able to live safely and
comfortably. The number of public housing properties that are modified varies
and changes constantly to suit changing client needs. Details about the number
of social housing properties in each allocation zone are available on the
Department of Family and Community Services' website at:
www.facs.nsw.gov.au.
- Over 300 group homes are operated by Ageing, Disability and Home Care.
- On average, around five residents live in each group home across New South
Wales.
- There are more than 40 group homes in the Hunter⁄New England
district.
