Hornery, Sonia to the Minister for Resources and Energy, Special Minister of State, and Minister for the Central Coast

Will the Government guarantee to protect the jobs, conditions and negotiated entitlements of workers under its proposed privatisation of Macquarie Generation's Liddell and Bayswater power stations?

    1. If so, how?
    2. Will this protection cover the current calculations for the incentive payment that rewards service of more than six years?
Answer -

I am advised that the sale arrangements will be such that the purchaser, and any subsequent purchaser, would be required to abide by the commitments made to employees as part of the transactions, including the four year employment guarantee for all enterprise agreement employees.
